Safe, Secure Travel Across the Puget Sound Region

Across the ORCA transit network, our goal is for every trip to be safe and welcoming. Regardless of your destination, we always want transit to be your #1 way to get there.

Clear Expectations

Whether you’re in Bremerton, Everett, Seattle, Snohomish, or Tacoma, there are clear expectations of our riders:

  • Act in a safe manner.
  • Be considerate of others.
  • Pay the fare. We offer reduced fares for people with disabilities, people with lower incomes, and seniors. Youth ages 18 and younger ride free.
  • Do not smoke, vape, or use drugs.
  • Respect the operator.
  • Take all belongings and any trash with you.

Violators may be asked to leave or be removed. They may also face penalties such as community service, fines, and jail.

How riders can help

Your ORCA card is your passport to buses, ferries, light rail trains, streetcars, and countless other ways to travel the beautiful Puget Sound region. As more and more people ride transit, the safety environment improves for everyone. If you see something amiss, please let us know.

In an emergency, call or text 9-1-1.

Please also report less urgent incidents to the respective transit agency. Your feedback guides our service and improves our system.
