250 Stores! ORCA Retail Network Hits Milestone

ORCA Team

ORCA is excited to announce that the ORCA retail network has reached a significant milestone, with over 250 stores now active and ready to serve transit riders across Puget Sound. This achievement marks a key step in expanding easy access to ORCA cards, ensuring that riders across the region can easily purchase and reload ORCA cards, no matter where they live or how they prefer to pay.

The ORCA retail network is made up of a diverse mix of locations, including both large chain stores and locally owned businesses. These neighborhood retailers play an essential role in making ORCA accessible to everyone. Not only do they offer the same ORCA services as larger chains, but they also connect with the most diverse portions of the ORCA customer base. Stores like Mendoza’s Mexican Mercado in Seattle and Dulceria El Chavito in Lynnwood are a couple of family-owned businesses that help ORCA reach more customers, especially those who prefer to pay with cash. Mendoza’s stated that, “we love helping our neighborhood by making public transportation more accessible by offering easy ORCA card refills”. Dulceria El Chavito added, “As a proud retailer of ORCA, we’ve made it easier for our community to access reliable public transportation, clients can now shop for their everyday needs and load their cards with us, making it a one stop shop! Offering this service has allowed us to help customers get where they need to go, while supporting local transit.” Retailers like these two examples are critical pieces of the ORCA strategy to reach more customers across the region.

For many riders, paying with cash is the most convenient option, and ORCA retail locations are a great way for them to load value quickly (funds are available instantly!), easily, and safely onto their ORCA cards. Whether it’s for your daily commute or a weekend adventure, ORCA retailers make it easier than ever to tap into the region’s transit network.

With more than 250 stores and counting, we’re committed to continuing this momentum and bringing ORCA services to more Puget Sound neighborhoods. A big thank you to all our partners—both big and small—for helping us get here. Together, we’re making transit more accessible for everyone.
